Og Mandino
>> June 3, 2009
Tonight I read about a very ordinary man with some very extraordinary words of wisdom. His name is Og Mandino and was a bombardier turned insurance salesman. He was incredibly successful due to nothing but his own gumption and determination. I admire him, really..a relatively 'standard' man from the midwest who realized his above-standard capabilities and went after them. His is the kind of wisdom that only comes through a life full of LIVING. He sure lived his life to the full..
"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence."
"Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself."

"To do anything truly worth doing, I must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and danger, but jump in with gusto and scramble through as well as I can."
"Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster. Your life will never be the same again."
